Community Council goes out and about!

Craigenlow QuarryCluny, Midmar & Monymusk community council meetings are never boring and I always look forward to the monthly gathering.  Last night didn’t disappoint! Thanks to Richard and Archie, we sat in the novel surroundings of Craigenlow Quarry. A bus first took us round the quarry and Mike Macaulay,  Regional Director of Breedon Aggregates North East gave a very interesting commentary on the history and it’s day-to-day operation. The meeting then continued in the quarry board room where residents discussed many local issues including planning applications, road safety and new street names!

Next meeting will be the AGM on Thursday 24 October 2013 in Midmar Hall.

Echt and Skene Community Council round-up

Echt and Skene Community Council held their AGM on Thursday at Garlogie Hall. Kenny Freeman who represents Kirkton of Skene stood down after 12 years on the committee. He recalled how the Community Council has improved things greatly for his village over that time.

Police Scotland gave their monthly report to the group. They reported that there has been extra road traffic patrolling in the area recently. A request to patrol Echt was made by a member as they thought there was an increase of vehicles speeding through the village.

Also on the agenda were various local planning applications.
