I like the fact that the new timetable takes into account all the areas of Westhill and Elrick and still a good service to Foresterhill hospital. Although still hourly service to Skene.
The routing numbering is not distinctive such as there are five variations of the X18 route one direct to Echt, some serving Old Skene Road to Alford, other serves Hillside Road & Broadshade, Alford via Echt and the final serving Kingswells on schooldays only. How are people going which bus is serving what with all these variations proposed a lot of people will be confused and some people have difficulty reading timetables to figure out which bus is what!
I have written to Stagecoach before about their confusing service numbers X17,N17,X18 which are similar to the city buses (First 17 & 18, N17) but they have done nothing about it probably never will.
Last Christmas Stagecoach provided a Sunday festive only service with the X40 from the Kingswells Park and Ride , now that Westhill buses will be going by the Kingswells Park and Ride once this new link road from Prime Four will be complete. Would it not be sensible to simplify X17 ➡️ X47, X18 ➡️ X48, 48A, 48B, 48E & 48S for the different routes described above that way people will have s better idea which area of Westhill the bus is going through.
