The latest in a series of recruitment days organised by Aberdeenshire Council will focus on recruiting home carers to help support older people in their own homes.
The event will be held at the Westhill Holiday Inn on Sunday (Jan 20) between 10am and 4pm, giving those interested in taking on the role the opportunity to find out more, ask questions and even apply for jobs there and then.
Home carers assist people with disabilities or those who are ill or frail to maintain their ability to live independently in the community, by providing support at home. That could include helping people manage their own personal care, prepare meals or simply manage better around the house.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Housing and Social Work Committee Councillor Karen Clark said: “We are very keen to recruit home carers in Westhill. These dedicated recruitment days highlight Aberdeenshire Council’s commitment to get the best staff and address a growing demand for home care and I hope that we can encourage more local people to take on a role in the caring profession.
“Our home carers are made up of people of all ages from all walks of life and each of them provide an invaluable service to vulnerable residents ensuring they get high quality care and support when needed.”
