When the new town at “Chapelton of Elsick”, some ten miles south of Aberdeen, was first mooted, residents in Westhill and Elrick raised concerns locally that the name “Elsick” being so similar to “Elrick” may cause confusion with postal and other delivery services.
Quite separately, the developers have now decided that the development will simply be called “Chapelton”. Good news for Elrick and good news for our posties!
