I am happy to report that after consultation with local members and community councils, the consensus is that the Hill of Keir road should remain open.

There was a proposal put forward by the council to close off the bottom part of this road following planning consent in principle being granted for the next phase of the Broadshade housing development. The effect of this would have been diverting traffic currently using this road on to the new distributor road, Broadshade Road. This was a major concern for myself and others. Discussions are ongoing with the developers to redesign the junctions leading from Broadshade, along with some minor improvements to the Hill of Keir road.
